TUT Library
TUT Library, the planning of a new library for Technikon Pretoria started in 1988. Not only were the usual role players like architects, engineers and building consultants involved in the planning process, but library staff and
library users played an active part in the planning as well. Even students were asked to take part in
decisions on the interior design and layout of the building.
Excavation work started in 1992 and the new library opened its doors to users for the first time on 1 October 1993. A year later, Mr. Robin Plumbridge, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gold Fields, officially opened the library on 17 October 1994.
